BACK TO THE ULAMA

In the midst of society's condition that currently feels uneasy, many problems are complained about by the people. Starting from economic difficulties, justice issues, social problems, to various increasingly complex issues of the ummah. In a situation like this, people certainly hope for the presence of a figure who can provide calm, solutions, and a role model.

In my opinion, many problems of the ummah and the people will be easier to solve if ulama and kyai help to handle them. Of course, not just anyone called a kyai, but ulama who are truly recognized for their knowledge, character, and benefit to the ummah. A figure whose scholarship is evident from piety, sincerity, and dedication to society.

This is very reasonable, because ulama are the people who fear Allah the most. Because of their fear of Allah, they will try to avoid His prohibitions and guard their trust as best as possible. True ulama also have compassion for the ummah. What they do is not merely because of worldly ambition, but because of faith and responsibility before Allah SWT.

In many cases, an ulama does not have the desire to pursue a position or rank. But when the ummah asks for help and needs their guidance, they will be present to help sincerely without expecting anything in return. Everything is done solely for Allah and for the common good.

Do ulama like that still exist? God willing, they still do, although the number may not be many. They are people who have knowledge, ability, sincerity, and compassion for others. They dedicate themselves to helping the ummah, guiding society, and upholding good values.

Therefore, let us get closer to the true ulama. At least we ask for their prayers and advice, especially if they are willing to play a role in improving the condition of society. Hopefully with the blessings of the prayers, knowledge, and example of the ulama, the condition of the Indonesian nation and society in the future will be better, more just, more peaceful, and full of blessings.
